Leaf-peeping is a favorite pastime for thousands of people living in and visiting New England. The beautiful colors are nearly always a gorgeous feast for the eyes. However, if you’re a homeowner, you’re probably not too fond of dealing with those beautiful leaves once they cover your entire yard, turn brown, and start to stink.
If that’s true for you, you’re not alone. After the first hour or so, lots of people get tired of raking leaves, and would prefer not to go near a rake again. They’ve invested in leafblowers, bagging attachments, and mulching mowers. While extensive leaf cover can be bad news, a moderate amount can be healthy for your lawn.
While each homeowner needs to make their own decisions about how to take care of the leaves on their property, you might consider some of these options, so you can make the most of this beautiful season instead of spending all day in the yard with a rake in hand.
